| |
The Legislative Information Tracking System (LIMS) was designed and developed by Symbiont, Inc.
to automate legislative record keeping and document control. Designed for
both the Intranet and Internet, LIMS software now plays a central role in
the effective management of legislative information and controlled access to
the public user.
|
Purpose:
LIMS stores legislative
documents and tracks the legislative activities related to those documents.
Its three functional modules enable users to create data repositories, manage
database records, regulate access to legislative information as well as,
utilize a host of data retrieving and report generating features.

Document Control is the
point of entry for all documentation. LIMS can scan
documents or convert existing word-processed documents into a
graphical image files that are then stored in the on-line
document repository.

Legislative Tracking
manages legislative information by tracking the current
status of legislature as it moves through the legislative
process. Depending on system privileges, users can search
for and retrieve specific information, manage data records,
and generate reports on various aspects of legislation.

Internet Access serves the
general public allowing anyone with a web browser to request
specific information, view actual legislative documents, and
download search results to their personal system.
|
LIMS was designed with speed and
navigational ease of use in mind. The entire system is menu
driven to simplify operator use. The most obvious advantage of
LIMS users is the tremendous savings in time and procedural
steps involved in retrieving information and responding to calls
and quieries from public users.

LIMS supports Access and MS SQL Server
7.0 database platforms, provides Seagate Crystal Reports for reporting,
and Adobe Acorobat Reader for producing image files.
